idGamma95 readme
===========================
Version 1.1

  This is the readme file for idGamma95.
  Here, you'll find quick 'n dirty information about it.
  To know more about how idGamma works, you should read idGamma for DOS README and FAQ!!!

 Contents:
===========

1. Requirements
2. Installation
3. Uninstallation
4. Quick-Start

 1. Requirements:
==================

- Windows95 system (not tested with 98);
- idGamma for Dos, by Bill Farmer;
- Any of the following games: Quake, Quake2 and/or Hexen2;

 2. Installation:
==================

- Simply unzip the package to any folder; you can copy it to
  the same folder as idGamma for DOS, if you wish.

	The files are:
		idgwin.exe  - the program itself
		idgwin.txt  - this text file you're reading

- If you wish, you can create a shortcut for idgwin.exe and place it in the desktop or Start menu.

- When you first time run the program, you should configure it, by entering the path to your installed games. The 'Setup' window should appear automatically.

	Tip: idGamma95 works best if you create a shortcut for idGamma for DOS
  and check the 'Close on exit' option. This way, idGamma for DOS will be
  automatically closed when all changes are done.

 3. Uninstallation:
====================

- Remove the 2 files you installed in the first place; (see above)

- To remove the values stored in the registry:
	Remove the registry key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/idGamma'.
	These keys do not occupy much	system resources.

	WARNING: These will remove all your settings and
		should only be done by advanced users!!!
	I plan to build some kind of uninstaller to safely remove these keys.

 4. Quick start:
=================

- This is meant for those - like me - who hate reading this stuff and want
  to start playing in the minimum short time period.
(If you can't use it correctly, I'm afraid you'll have to read it though...)

  OK,
  1. Fire up idGamma95 (I suppose you should now how to do this by now... if not...er...read your Windows95 manual, help file or ask someone for help.)
  2. You'll have to enter the paths for the game(s) you have installed, as well as idGamma for DOS path. If you don't have a specific game, leave the edit box blank.
  3. You may press OK. You are now ready to use idGamma95.
  4. Just adjust the sliders left and right and test the results in a game, by
     pressing the 'Save and launch game' button.
